Firefox 3.5 Launch
The fastest Firefox launching today
As promised Iīm going to keep this blog going - but talk About whatever Iīm currently thinking About and not necessarily try to make it relate to nautical happenings - so here we go with that...Today marks the launch of the latest version of Firefox (my favorite web browser) The new version includes a much faster Javascript engine - something that with all the Javascript being used in web applications today, should show a speed boost for almost everyone.
What started as a small update to something the developers were calling Firefox 3.1 got so significant in magnitude that they eventually changed the version to call it 3.5 and a far more significant release.
As I type this the release notice hasnīt yet hit their web site, and I imagine when it does downloads wonīt be possible for a little while as the masses clamber to get a shiny new copy. For my part as PawPrint continues to add more and more Javascript and ajax into the XDe Iīm really looking Forward to seeing how much of a difference this new version makes. My only concern now is to see how many of the wonderful add-ons that I use on a daily basis still havenīt been updated to work with version 3.5 - hopefully enough that I can start using the browser straight away.
well, I shall find out soon - For now I am donning my helmet and gloves and prepping to join the throng in an attempt to be one of the first to get a shiny new copy!
