2010 Mascots

Looking at the 2010 mascots that were unveiled yesterday I think we can safely state that they are "committee decision" materialized...

This is the face that VANOC has decided to put Forward for the world stage to represent our area - man thatīs embarrassing! A cast of genetic mutants that look like (as others have described) Anime gone very very wrong?

Sumi described: "...He wears the hat of the orca whale..." - the What? Iīm sorry I feel like Iīm in some kind of Alice in Wonderland when I look through the site. Were they on something when they came up with these?

I think About 99% of people I spoke with prior all believe that they would go with the Spirit bear as a mascot - it made too much sense I guess - something kids would like and that also had a great message and might promote some awareness of an important issue - but no, we get Miga - "...Sea bears are part killer whale and part bear..." {pause to Beat Head against table} why?

Ah well - I know we are stuck with them - but I regret seeing a good opportunity passed by in favor of the plainly bizarre.
