Exercising the 60 ton

Today marks a special day for me. It will be the first time I actually get to use the 60 ton ticket I worked so hard to achieve - taking the Helm of a dive vessel in Sechelt Inlet.

For me, it was always About getting my knowledge up to the point where I could get the ticket and less About actually using it. But while Kellei is away in Mexico the local dive charter business that deals with large groups (her primary partner company) needed some help. Kellei had been running crew for them and in her absence the owner asked if I could fill in. So off we go. Should be interesting - the dive vessel has loads of windage and itīs supposed to come-on to blow this afternoon - so weīll be watching the wx carefully. However weīre in very protected waters of Sechelt Inlet - so even in a 50 kn storm you donīt get much more then a 2ī Chop.

Iīll try to get some photos...
