Turning on restricted viewing for a calendar event makes it visible only to certain user categories (there must be some categories define for the users on the site however)

Restricted events will remain invisible to all users who do not match the selected categories. This is ideal for creating a combined public/private calendar that will change depending on who is viewing it.
